THALES BANZAI
PRODUCER & DIRECTOR
From short films shot on VHS in the 90s; skate promos recorded on Mini-DV in the 2000s; to commercials choreographed with robot cameras today, Thales Banzai has fully immersed himself in directing and producing all types of creative projects.
Between 2005-2010, he made his debut at Brazilian film festivals with his first experimental short films being selected for the ‘Festival do Minuto’, ‘Rio Short Film Festival’, ‘Curta-8’, among others.
Later, he directed the short documentary 'Two Women, Two Lives, One Fight' which was written by Emílio Domingos and intertwined the stories of singer Elza Soares and judoka Rafaela Silva, becoming the most viewed Brazilian Doc-Short on YouTube in November 2017. He was also an associate producer for the feature-length documentary 'Favela is Fashion’ by Emílio Domingos, which won the Rio Film Festival in 2019. In addition to working with major agencies and clients in the national and international advertising market, Thales has always kept his independent production active, whether in directing or producing documentaries, music videos, and short films that have been shown in national and international festivals and premiered on the Nowness channel.
Besides ‘Tony Odyssey,' he is currently developing a coming-of-age feature film with Josefina Trotta; an international anthological suspense series with Murilo Hauser; and will release his first Graphic Novel titled ‘SELVA', in the first half of 2024. Nowadays, he lives in Los Angeles, with his heart in Brazil and ready to get his hands on creative projects that come his way!

MUSIC

ARTHUR VEROCAI
ARRANGER
Brazilian composer, arranger, conductor, and music producer, born on 1945, in Rio de Janeiro. Following its re-issue in 2003 the album has become a highly influential of sampled classics (Ludacris, MF Doom and Little Brother)

KIKO DINUCCI
COMPOSER
One of the most innovative artists working in contemporary Brazilian music, Kiko Dinucci offers an explosive take on 21st century Brazil, absorbing the lineage of Brazilian guitarists such as Dorival Caymmi, João Gilberto, Baden Powell -- yet filters it through his uniquely "punk" musical vision. His style is raw -- technically, he attacks the guitar strings, lyrically he explores Afro-Brazilian culture, slavery, Brazilian revolutionaries and candomblé.
"Folk music textures with a chunky, percussive playing style that recalls Kiko's experience in the city's punk scene..." — Pitchfork
